Michelle Kantor leads the Federal Government Contracting & Procurement practice group of McDonald Hopkins LLC. She has more than 29 years of experience practicing in federal and local government contracting, procurement law and litigation. Kantor represents prime contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, professional service providers and other businesses in matters including, Federal regulatory compliance, Small Business Programs, Bid Protests, Size Protest & Size Appeals and NAICS Code protests; as well as contracting claims and payment disputes, REAs, response to government investigations, Suspension and Debarment proceedings and other related disputes. Michelle assists clients in Federal, State and local government contracting and procurement, Teaming & Joint Venture agreements, Federal Business Ethics & FAR Compliance, SBA 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, WBE/MBE/DBE Certifications and Appeals, Federal government Mentor-Protégé agreements; and small business corporate changes and business succession planning.
Michelle serves as General Counsel to the Federation of Women Contractors and on the Chicago Women’s Business Development Center Advisory Committee. Michelle is also a member of Women Impacting Public Policy as well as member of the Court of Federal Claims Bar Association. She is also a Life Time Member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). Michelle has received the Lifetime Advocate Award from FWC for her work in counseling and advocating for women, minority, and veteran owned businesses. In August, 2017 Crain's Business named Michelle in the Most Influential Chicago Women Lawyers of 2017. Michelle’s is a frequent speaker at seminars, conventions, webinars & trade associations nationwide.
