Robert Boone

Director of Small Business Programs, Transportation Security Administration (TSA)


Robert Boone, Jr. is the Director of Small Business Programs for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).  Mr. Boone is responsible for providing sound business advice, education, and outreach to small business owners on individual procurement opportunities issued by the agency.  He also is the small business advisor to the program and acquisition staff at TSA, supporting an annual $3 billion acquisition program. He also served as the Deputy Chief of Acquisition for the National Transportation Safety Board, where he had direct oversight of contracts supporting their air, land, sea, and rail investigative safety missions.   A Gulf War Veteran, Mr. Boone started his career in the U.S. Air Force as a contracts specialist; he retired in 2004 as a Chief Master Sergeant faithfully serving 28 years.  He holds both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Business from National-Louis University of Chicago and is a Certified Federal Contracts Manager from the National Contract Management Association, along with having Federal Acquisition Certification Level III.
