In this session, John Shoraka, Trevor Skelly, and Anna Sanders will present the latest updates regarding SBA’s audit of the 8(a) Program and its implications for eligibility and compliance. The panel will address common pitfalls faced by 8(a) Participants, including issues arising from mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, performance of work, and subcontracting. In addition, the speakers will cover critical requirements related to maintaining and reporting economic disadvantage status, as well as affiliation and control issues for entity-owned concerns and family members. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of current audit expectations and how to proactively strengthen compliance.
